European Tickling Events: What’s Out There

One of the most common questions in tickling communities is: “Are there any events near me?”

The honest answer in Europe: yes, actually — more than most people realize. The scene is smaller and quieter than in North America, but it exists, and it’s been growing steadily.

Here’s a rundown of what’s out there, as of 2026.

NEST — Northern European Smörgåsbord of Tickling

NEST is the largest recurring tickling event in Europe. Organized by and for the community, it typically runs over a long weekend and includes:

  • Structured tickle sessions (with careful consent protocols)
  • Social time and community building
  • Panel discussions and workshops
  • A mix of “lees” and “leer” (Dutch terms for the ticklee and tickler roles, widely used in European community)

NEST has run in various locations including the Netherlands and Germany. It attracts participants from across Europe and occasionally further afield.

TickleCon Europe

Originally a US phenomenon, TickleCon has expanded internationally. European editions have been smaller and less frequent than the American originals, but the format — a hotel takeover with organized sessions, open rooms, and social activities — translates well.

Country-Specific Meetups

Beyond the big events, smaller country-level meetups happen throughout the year. Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK tend to have the most active scenes.

These are typically organized through:

Germany — particularly active, with Berlin and Hamburg both having regular small gatherings. German-speaking communities often use the term kitzeln events.

Netherlands — a historically strong community, with some of the earliest European organized events happening there.

UK — regular meetups in London, Manchester, and Edinburgh, with a mix of social and session-oriented events.

France, Italy, Spain — smaller scenes but growing, primarily organized through French-language and Spanish-language Discord servers.

What to Expect at an Event

If you’ve never attended one of these events, the typical experience is:

  1. Arrival and orientation — organizers walk you through consent protocols, safe words, and the house rules
  2. Social time — just meeting people, chatting, getting comfortable
  3. Scheduled sessions — organized match-ups based on role preference (lee/ler) and comfort level
  4. Open time — informal sessions, more socializing
  5. Debrief and aftercare — good events build in time to come down, process, and check in

Consent is everything. Every legitimate event in this space operates on explicit, enthusiastic, ongoing consent. If an event you encounter doesn’t emphasize this strongly, be cautious.
